In Memory of my sister

Carrie Jensen 1978 ~ 2009 Carrie Jensen, age 31, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2009, from a brain tumor. She was surrounded by her mother, brother, two sisters, and brother in-law, before returning to her Heavenly Father. Carrie was born on January 4, 1978, in San Jose, California. She started school at age four and was an excellent student. She was an avid reader her entire life, and as a young girl, read the complete works of Shakespeare. At the time of her passing she was reading Les Miserables for the second time. Her family moved to Portland, Oregon, when she was nine. Carrie was a natural swimmer and was recruited to join a competitive swim team. She continued to swim competitively through high school and college. She shared this passion as a lifeguard and youth swim coach in Park City, Utah. Carrie attended Brigham Young University, where she earned a degree in Psychology, and minored in Business. Carrie was a beautiful person inside and out. She was gentle and kindhearted, and loved her friends and family. She was known for her quick wit and amazing recollection of numbers and details. Through nine years of recurring brain tumors, Carrie was an inspiration to all. She never complained or lost her patience, optimism, or sense of humor. Everyone who knew her will miss her. Carrie is survived by her mother, Diane P. Weinstein; siblings, Greg (Lucy) and their sons, Josh, Sammy, and Alex; Amy (Loran) Cook and their son Riley; and Jill (Dustin) McQuay and their daughter Ella. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 7, at 11:00 a.m., at the LDS chapel located at 4350 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family would like to extend special gratitude to Trina, Carli, and other staff of Applegate Homecare and Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at: www.olpinhoopes.com. Those wishing to honor Carrie may donate to The Brain Tumor Center at Duke University; for information visit http://tinyurl.com/carriejensen.

I was Carrie's roommate in SLC and Park city right after college. We coached together at Ecker Hill, she knew EVERYTHING about swimming and was so much fun to live and work with. Shortley after her first tumor we went seperate ways, we hardley saw eachother, I had no idea she had any problems after that. I will miss her so much.
