We found out that I was pregnant right after Thanksgiving but I was instantly nervous due to my history. Fortunately my doctors monitor me very closely, gives me helpful drugs to take, and run many tests which did put me at ease. Also, I was pretty sick so that was a constant reassurance that everything was going okay. I am so happy to be mostly done with the whole morning sickness thing. The week before Christmas we had our first ultrasound to check for a heartbeat and when we saw it we were so relieved. We wanted to tell Dustin's parents in person and we wanted to tell them when it looked very optimistic. We wrapped up the ultrasound photo for one of their gifts and it was so much fun. Dustin's grandma has video of them finding out that I will have to post at some point.
I decided that I wasn't going to blog about being pregnant until I was out of the first trimester, but then I had an appointment at 14 weeks and I just decided to wait for that. That was last week but I am just getting around to it because Ella got really sick that day and is just barely getting better. I can do another post about that later. Anyway, a lot of people who see me often figured out I was pregnant awhile ago because my belly is quite obvious. I thought I showed early with Ella, but it is even more pronounced this time around. I must admit, getting the big belly is slightly less exciting the second time around. I think it is because I am now remembering what it feels like to be so big. It is all worth it though and the more I grow I know the little baby is growing and is healthy.
Alright, now that I have written a novel I will get to the details that most of you actually care about. My due date is August 7th, so Ella will be a month shy of 2 1/2 if I go full term. We are really happy about that spacing. I am a little nervous about being gigantic when it is really hot, but I am sure I will survive. My big ultrasound isn't until March 19, but since I am so anxious to know, but doctor said he would try to sneak in a quick ultrasound to take a peek at my next visit on March 1!! So hopefully I will have some fun news to share that day. I really think it is another girl, but we will see. To be perfectly honest we don't really care what we have. We have reasons for wanting both so I will be excited either way. We have already gotten started on Ella's big girl room and I will do a post of that when I finish with it. For those that know me I am a major planner so I am dying to get the nursery all organized. Thanks if you actually made it to the end of all this. Dustin and I are thrilled and we love having so many great people to share it with.
Here is a picture of me around 12 weeks I think. I am already quite a bit bigger which is a little shocking to me. I apologize if I bother anyone with my bare belly. I am already feeling a little guilty because we took weekly pictures with Ella, and so far this is the only one we took. And don't worry, when I get gigantic I will post pictures with a covered belly :)

Congrats Jill & Dustin! I am so happy for you guys & can't wait to hear what you're having. I am sorry to hear about your miscarriages, what a blessing this baby will be. And I am sure Ella will be a great big sister! ((Hugs))
Congratulations!! I am so excited for you guys! You are so lucky that the doctor is going to check the gender for you next time! I can't wait to hear! I am so glad you appointment went well last week. Love the belly shot!
Yay! Congrats! Isn't it crazy how quickly you get bigger the second time around? It's definitely how I felt. Can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl!
I'm so happy for you guys! Congratulations!
Yeah! Congrats you guys! Our second, Nora, was born on Aug. 19 last year, and yes!!! it is very hot to be so ready to have a baby in the hot summer time. Get yourself to a pool and you'll feel much better! It's a great season to have a baby though, not so many sick people around. You guys all look so good. I'm happy to get updated! Good luck!
So happy you posted about the news!! Congrats again, so very exciting. We have the same issues with getting pregnant and so when we got pregnant with the twins it was pretty overwhelming at first, but we knew it was an even bigger blessing! I am glad that things are going so well for you this time. I saw you out walking the other day, but you had a coat on so I didn't even notice your cute pregnant belly! Having my kids July 2nd it was a hot summer to be pregnant, but with our next one I want another summer baby because then you don't have to worry as much about the RSV season and sickness so much!
Anyway best of luck to you and I can't wait to see Ella's new room! We really need to get Ella and my kids together to play soon.
Congratulations!! Show all the naked belly you want. There are few times in our lives that a big belly is an exciting thing!! So glad things are going well and I pray that continues. God Bless!!
Congratulations Jill! I thought you might be pregnant!
Yay. I am excited for you guys! I think it's cute that you popped out already, but that is how it goes from here on out, ya know. With every kid it is a little more obvious and harder to keep it a secret. I can't wait to see the big belly pictures of you. I am carrying differently than I did before, so I am interested to know if that happens for other people too. Hoorray for babies! Good luck with the summer. Fill that freezer with ice cream and popsicles.
Congratulations! I am so excited for you!! Have fun- and I can't wait to hear if it's a boy or a girl!!
Congrats! I am sooo thrilled for you guys. It is true with the second time around I mean I have gotten bigger with my 2nd faster and the 3rd was even worse. I can't wait to hear if its a boy or a girl!!!
Congrats you guys!!! That is so exciting!!! :)
Jenny
Hurray! I hope you have a healthy, not too uncomfortable pregnancy!
Wahooo! Glad you're expecting.... but hope it's not too uncomfortable with feeling sick and all...
But, also, August 7th is my birthday!! I hope your little one is born on that day. It's a FABULOUS day!!
YAY!!! Congrats! I know how difficult it has been for you guys! That is so exciting! I hope things continue to go well and I cannot wait to here what you are having. 2 1/2 years apart will be great! Ella will love being a big sister!
congrats! That is so exciting!! You are a very cute prego belly :) Adeline and Norah are 2 yrs 4 months apart and I think it is the BEST! The older one is so much more independent and can do things by herself... plus only one in diapers. So fun!
I'm so excited for you guys! You're already better than me--I had tons of pictures of my belly with Patrick and only one with Luke!
YEAH, that is exciting news! I've gained the same amount of weight the second time around, but I'm sticking out a LOT more. Darn those loose stomach muscles!! Well congratulations!!!!!
