Ella's Big Girl Room

For the past month we have been preparing for and finishing Ella's new room. I wish I had taken some before pictures. This used to be our office with a huge desk and tons of bookcases. It has been a little hard losing our office, but we sold our old furniture, found new places for supplies, and bought a smaller desk that is now in our bedroom. We have been doing some major cleaning out and downsizing. Our bedroom is a little crowded, but Dustin has to have a place to work since he often works from home. We are really happy with how her room turned out and we love spending time in it. Ella loves it too and she is already sleeping in her bed too. We thought the transition would be really hard, but it went super smooth. During the day for her naps I still have to lay down on the floor for a couple minutes. For some reason if she sees me lay down she will lay down and go to sleep. I think it is harder for her to go to sleep since it is light and she is tempted by her toys. The great thing is that she never tries to get out of her bed. She looks so adorable in her bed since she is so tiny in it. We now only go in her old nursery to change her diaper on the changing table. I am excited to find out what we are having so I can get going on that room. I am a little bit of a planner and an organizer, can you tell? :) Anyway, enjoy the pictures. Please ignore that one of knobs on her dresser is missing. There was a flaw on it so the furniture store is getting us a new one.
Ella insisted on sitting in her chair while I was taking pictures, and then she kicked me out. I was really hurrying because of it so I apologize that they are not the best pictures.

We just got the nightstand on Saturday and I feel like it needs something more done with it besides the lamp, but I haven't figured it out yet. For now, Ella just loves the turn the lamp off and on about 50 times a day. This is the lamp from her nursery and it is a little small in the room. I might need to make some changes. Opinions are welcome :)

Awhhh...Ella's room looks SO cute. We put Nora in with Will so I couldn't do a lot of fun girlie decorating for Nora. I love your owl theme. My sister makes darling owls out of upcycled wool and sells them on etsy. You could even ask her to make one that would match the room. Just an idea for the empty nightstand. :) It's so fun to catch up on you guys. You have a cute family and we're excited about the new baby on the way!! Here's the etsy link.

Her room looks very cute! It's fun to see what other people do in their kids rooms with having the same house/floor plan. It's almost weird to see how it's flip flopped from our house. Sawyer in our house is in the room that use to be your office and Sadie's room is the same one that Ella is in now. :) I would love to come and see it in person one day. It will be fun to decorate my kids rooms when they get a bit older and I can use other stuff than their baby crib beddings. :)Can't wait to hear what your having and see the baby's room. I bet it's different not having your office. We never did have one since both our kids had their own rooms, we have a small computer desk that fits in the corner of our family room by the window, but I am really wanting to move it into our bedroom, but just not sure with our new bedroom furniture if it will fit! Anyway, sorry this has become a novel now. But her room looks super cute! :)
